Concentricity testing machines are used to check the radial an axial runout of rotationally symmetrical workpieces or shafts. There are two types of concentricity testing: between centers and centreless testing. The former is carried out using tailstocks on a measuring bench. This method is particularly suitable when the workpiece has a centre, as centres ensure the highest possible accuracy in concentricity testing. In contrast to rolling blocks, there are no additional errors introduced by ball bearings.
When workpieces do not have a centre or have excessive weight, rolling blocks or support blocks can be used for concentricity testing. In this method, the shaft is placed on two rolling blocks, each forming a prism with two rollers. These rollers allow the shaft to rotate. For workpieces with different diameters, height-adjustable rolling blocks are available.
Measurement stands are used to determine deviations in radial and axial runout. These allow the attachment of dial indicators or lever type dial test indicators. By precisely radial and axial runout testing, not only is the functionality of the components ensured, but the lifespan of the rotating components is also increased. In many industries, such as mechanical engineering or the automotive industry, high-quality testing is essential to meet strict standards and regulations, ensuring that products meet the highest demands.
If you do not find suitable components for your specific application or the parameters of your workpiece in our standard range, please do not hesitate to send us an inquiry for your specific needs. We would be happy to provide you with a detailed offer for a concentricity testing device made for your individual parts spectrum.
