Optical Flats & Light Sources for Flatness Testing | ULTRA Shop
Buy monochromatic light sources and double-sided optical flats from Lapmaster & ULTRA for optical flatness testing as well as optical parallel sets for micrometers in our B2B shop.
Optical flats and monochromatic light units represent the technological pinnacle for non-contact optical inspection of extremely flat surfaces. This measurement procedure utilizes the physical principle of light interference: when a high-precision optical flat is placed onto the workpiece surface to be inspected and illuminated with monochromatic light, characteristic interference fringes (interference rings) appear. Based on the path and spacing of these lines, the flatness of components, measuring faces, or gauge blocks can be accurately determined in the nanometer range. This method is ideally suited for use in climate-controlled measuring rooms, calibration laboratories, and demanding quality assurance in mechanical engineering.
Our B2B portfolio includes double-sided precision optical flats in protective cases with a flatness of Lambda 8 (~0.08 µm) including a calibration certificate for diameters from 25 mm to 250 mm. The category is completed by professional monochromatic light sources from Lapmaster as well as matching system accessories such as 35W replacement lamps and lint-free cleaning wipes in cases. For the combined flatness and parallelism testing on external micrometers, we also stock dedicated optical parallel sets from the ULTRA active series to detect measuring face errors quickly and reliably directly on the shop floor.
